Priyanka Chopra Is Making a Sitcom Series On Madhuri Dixit

After charming the Bollywood Priyanka Chopra did the same in Hollywood. Looks like now there is a new thing coming to her mind. Priyanka Chopra, famous as ABC’s Quantico around the globe and now known as hot Baywatch movie girl, this Bollywood star is now ready to bring the world of Indian cinema to American TV.

Priyanka will be producing an ABC single-camera sitcom based on the life of the beautiful Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit. Of course, everybody missed her after she moved from her home and career in India to Colorado with her husband.

This show will all be about Madhuri Dixit’s life in the American suburbs: in the mid-2000s, how she moved to a new neighborhood following her marriage to the cardiologist Shriram Nene. This sitcom will be focusing on her attempts to bring her colorful style to an otherwise dull place full of people who were clueless about how big of a star she actually is overseas.

Madhuri Dixit has won six Filmfare Awards and gotten critical praise for her roles in almost all the movies she has been in, including the Shahrukh and Aishwarya starrer Devdas, which screened at the Cannes International Film Festival. In the year 2008 the Government of India awarded her with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour in India. In 2002, she took a sabbatical from cinema and moved to America to raise her family, and then in 2007 she made a comeback with Aaja Nachle. Priyanka Chopra's show will focus on those years between 2002 and 2007.

Even Dixit and her husband are producing this show, and the pilot writer Sri Rao is the former head writer for General Hospital: Night Shift. He too is a veteran of Bollywood. A lot of people around Hollywood feel this show will be to Hindi cinema in America like Jane the Virgin is to the classic Latin American telenovela.
